Fred D. Weaver lived here in the 1920's. At his death, the evening Gazette wrote that he had the first garage in Cedar Rapids, and the first automobile dealership west of the Mississippi . He was the uncle of Grant Wood on Grant's maternal side. The stained glass window on the east side of this house may have been made by Grant Wood.
