Neighborhood Association

The Mound View Neighborhood Association was established in 1995 for the purpose of bringing BEAUTY, PRIDE and SAFETY to the neighborhood.  They meet the second Saturday of each month, 10:00 am, at the Neighborhood Resource Center, housed at Central Park Presbyterian Church, 1700 B Ave. NE.  Meetings are regularly attended by neighborhood residents, the Police Department, the Fire Department, Coe College faculty and students as well as many other invited guests and speakers. Meetings are always informative as the group comes together to share its concerns and accomplishments.  All are invited to attend.

The Mound View Neighborhood Association has special connections to Grant Wood as he grew up in the neighborhood and was baptized at Central Park Church.  A tour including many popular pictures and the neighborhood residents and buildings are available for all who appreciate Grant Wood and the Mound View Neighborhood.  The Neighborhood Resource Center located at Central Park Church provide valuable help and assistance to neighborhood residents.  The Resource Center houses a neighborhood assistance office, HACAP/Headstart, the Weed and Seed Program, a VITA Center for free income tax filing, the Partnership For Safe Families, CROP mental health referral service and the Department of Correctional Services, all of which are available to neighborhood residents.

Mound View is one of several neighborhood associations available for the residents of Cedar Rapids.  These are all part of the cities revitalization program.
