BENTON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Benton County Historical Society is an all-volunteer organization founded in 1970 to kindle interest in and promote preservation of local history.

Members of the society receive a quarterly newsletter informing them of activities and opportunities for involvement. Membership dues are $10.00 per person for a 1 year membership or $150.00 for a lifetime membership. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Society send a check in the ammount of the membership amount to BCHS, c/o Treasurer, PO Box 22, Vinton, Iowa 52349.

The society has three properties located in Vinton. The three properties are operated by committees, other committees are: education, collections, and Research & Genealogy. All of the committees are eager to welcome new members into active participation. Propertie committees include The Ray House, Horridge House and Depot

The Benton County Historical Society is a non-profit orginization and any donations made are tax duductable. If you would like to donate to the BCHS send you checks to the above address
